Happy Halloween from CYS: Tips for a Fun and Safe Trick-or-Treating!

Boo! Did we catch you off guard? Halloween is tonight, and the excitement is bubbling up like a witch’s pot! At California Youth Services (CYS), we’re all set with our costumes and are excitedly awaiting a night filled with spooky fun and delicious treats. But, before our little ghosts and goblins set out on their candy quests, we want to send out a special message to all the youth and families in our community.

Costume Check!
Ensure costumes are safe and comfy. Think bright and easy to move in. Safety tip: Add some reflective tape for extra visibility.

The Sweet Route
Plan your route ahead. Stick to familiar neighborhoods and well-lit streets. Bonus tip: Check local community events for organized, safe trick-or-treating.

Buddy System
Never trick-or-treat alone. Go in groups or with a trusted adult. It's more fun and much safer.

Candy Inspection
Exciting, right? But, always check your treats before eating. Parents, this one's mainly for you: a quick safety check can go a long way.

🧙‍♀️ Respectful Fun
Remember, Halloween is for everyone. Be kind, be polite, and respect people's properties and decorations.

Light Up
Carry a flashlight or glow sticks. They're not just fun; they keep you visible to others, including drivers.

And lastly, enjoy the magic of Halloween night! Share your stories, laughs, and, of course, your candy. Let’s make this Halloween memorable for all the right reasons!

Stay safe and have a blast, trick-or-treaters!
