Dear Family & Friends,

This year we remembered the 22nd year of the loss of our son, Kevin.

After his passing on February 2, 2003, Gil & I channeled our grief by helping launch California Youth Services.

We started our journey in 2005 with California Youth Services Executive Director, Margie Diaz. Gil & I found healing in being guest speakers during J.A.D.E. (Juvenile Alcohol and Drugs Education) programs.

In 2013, we remembered Kevin's tenth anniversary by hosting our first ever gala fundraiser at The Bell Tower in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. Gil & I proudly served as the inaugural event co-chairs, and we never looked back. For many years we continued chairing CYS’s annual gala, which was a lot of work, but so worth it.

California Youth Services has come a long way since 2005. Our programs not only help teens & family with substance abuse, but also anxiety, depression, social challenges, life transitions, grief & loss, and family & relationship issues.

This is how we support CYS…by keeping the programs going.

Although we can't be as active as before due to our personal challenges this past year and half, our motivation for CYS has grown stronger. We have 2 beautiful grandchildren and they are our future. It is important today, more than ever to continue the mission of CYS as the Fentanyl epidemic and mental health challenges among teens is soring.
